After that historic victory of India, there has been a debate among the people on social media from time to time that Dhoni had taken the credit for India’s victory in the final, while Gambhir should have known the highest victory. Now while talking to ABP News, Gambhir has issued a big statement on not getting the credit for victory.
ABP News asked Gautam Gambhir whether he was not credited with India’s victory in the final. Gambhir replied, “I do not agree with this, in fact people should ask themselves. The common people have given me a lot of love for that innings.”
I did not play to take credit
Gautam Gambhir targeted his critics and said that when a player is going to play such a big match, he does not think of taking credit. Gambhir said, “Those who raise the question that I was not given the credit for victory in the finals, in fact the same people did not give me the credit for victory. The rest have given me a lot of love for that innings.”
Gambhir said that when such a large -scale match is happening, a player thinks instead of personal score whether he may be a part of the World Cup winning team. Gambhir targeted his critics talking about personal achievements and said that Mahela Jayawardene had scored a century in the final, but he would not remember anyone. According to Gambhir, if Sri Lanka had won in the finals, then there would have been a lot of talk about Jayawardene’s century.
