Let us tell you that Rashid Khan was the player retained by Gujarat at the highest price before the mega auction. The team had retained Rashid for a price of Rs 18 crore. Shubman Gill, who captained last season, was retained by Titans for a price of Rs 16.50 crore.

Gujarat became champion in the very first season
It is noteworthy that Gujarat Titans made their IPL debut in 2022. The team had made all-rounder Hardik Pandya the captain in the first season. Under the captaincy of Hardik, Gujarat won the title in its very first season in 2022. After this, the team reached the final in the next season i.e. IPL 2023 also. However, this time the team had to be satisfied with being runner up. Then in the next season i.e. 2024, Hardik Pandya left the team and the command was handed over to Shubman Gill. Under the captaincy of Gill, the team could not even qualify for the playoffs.
