

Mea slams nyt report on hal: On Somavar (31 March 2025), India rejected the New York Times report from one end that claimed that the defense company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited shared some confidential information to Russia. In fact, the New York Times in its report claimed that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has sold sensitive technology to the agency inserted in a black list supplying arms to Russia, which can be used military.
The Ministry of External Affairs has responded to a report published by the New York Times. The ministry said, ‘This report is factually wrong and misleading. In the report, the issues have been incorrectly presented and the facts are folded in such a way that it attempts to promote a political agenda. ‘ In the report, the Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been referred to its international obligations with full honesty, especially in the context of strategic trade controls and final user commitments. ‘
New York Times should investigate before publishing the report: Mea
In this report, the Ministry of External Affairs further said about the news published in the New York Times against HAL, ‘India’s legal and regulatory structure, which has been established on strategic trade, constantly guides Indian companies in the right direction globally. The ministry also hoped that the prestigious media institutions should conduct a thorough investigation before publishing the report, which has been clearly ignored in the matter.
On 28 March 2025, the New York Times published a report claiming that British aerospace manufacturer HR Smith Group supplied technical equipment to Russia through HAL. These Equipments consisted of parts of cockpit, transmitters and parts of many other sensitive equipment. The New York Times also claimed in its report that these devices were ordered by Britain and America not to sell Russia. The report also stated that HAL had sent the equipment found from HR Smith to Russia’s Blacklisted agency Rosoboronaxport.
