GT vs Mi, Hardik Pandya, IPL 2025: In the 18th season of the Indian Premier League, the account of the victory of Mumbai Indians is not open yet. In the 9th match of IPL 2025 on Saturday, MI lost by 36 runs against Gujarat Titans. Gujarat scored 196 runs after playing first and in response Mumbai could only score 160 runs. After the match, captain Hardik Pandya himself gave the biggest reason for the defeat. Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya admitted after the defeat against Gujarat that his team made a lot of mistakes and did not show a professional attitude.
Chasing Gujarat’s target of 197 runs, the Mumbai Indians team could score 160 for six despite the third wicket partnership between Suryakumar Yadav (48) and Tilak Verma (39) in front of the sharp bowling of the famous Krishna (two wickets for 18) and Mohammad Siraj (two wickets for 34 runs).
Titans earlier scored a 63 -run innings with four fours and two sixes in 41 balls of Sai Sudarshan and 78 for his first wicket with captain Shubman Gill (38) and 51 runs for the second wicket with Jos Buttler (39) with 196 runs for eight wickets.
Mi captain Hardik Pandya said after the match, “There were some mistakes, we were not professional in the field, due to which we probably lost 20-25 runs. He (Gujarat Titans’ openers) did the right job in the powerplay, he did not play high risk shots, he scored a lot of runs and we came on the backfoot.”
He further said, “There is an early phase right now, but at the same time the batsmen will have to do well. Hopefully they will do it soon. When there is such a more uneven boom, it becomes difficult as a batsman. He did the same with me (which I did as a bowler).”
