
Pakistan train hijack: The train hijack in Balochistan, Pakistan has been more than 24 hours. Pakistani security forces have so far released 155 hostages, while 27 Baloch fighters have been killed in retaliation. However, there are still many passengers in BLA’s possession.
Passengers who came out of the possession of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) shared this painful incident. Ishaq Noor (free from hostage) told BBC, “When the firing started, we stopped breathing. We did not know what would happen next.” Muhammad Ashraf (passenger going from Quetta to Lahore) said, “This was a catastrophe-like scene. I and my wife tried to save their child. We thought that if a bullet would come, we were hit, not on the children.” Mushtaq Muhammad (hostage passenger) said, “The attackers were talking in Baluchi language. Their leaders were repeatedly saying that they could not see the security workers.”
BLA’s threat – “If you try to save, you will suffer the consequences”
The Pakistani Army claims that they have freed 190 passengers, but BLA is still hidden in the hilly areas with many hostages. BLA has warned the Pakistani government that if any other military action was taken to get rid of the hostages, it will have serious consequences.
Coffers of dead bodies arrive at Quetta railway station
According to the BBC report, wooden coffins were brought to Quetta railway station on Wednesday. Officials said that they have been prepared for possible casualties. Women, children and elderly passengers were being released from Tuesday evening. Pakistan’s Human Rights Commission said, “We are seriously worried about the train hijack.”
Pakistani army action continues
Bla is still hidden in the hilly areas with many hostages, BLA has issued a strict warning over the attempt to get rid of the hostages. BLA spokesman Jiyand Baloch issued a press release saying that BLA’s freedom fighters have been fully controlled on the Jafar Express for the last 24 hours. More than 200 Pakistani security personnel, intelligence agents and paramilitary forces personnel are in custody of BLA. These hostages are accused of forcibly disappearing in Balochistan, involvement in just killings and looting of resources. The organization has warned that if Pakistan does not take steps on the exchange of prisoners, the hostages will be killed.
