IPL 2025: Moin Ali, who successfully replaced Sunil Narayan during the IPL match against Rajasthan Royals of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), said that he is accustomed to bowling with a person who is better than him.
Moin on Wednesday, along with Indian spinner Varun Chakraborty, slammed the bowlers of Royals in the middle overs and stopped the opposing team for nine wickets for 151 runs.
Moin said in a press conference after the match, “My job is to curb the run speed so that he can put pressure and take wickets. I am accustomed to bowling with a person who is better than me and which has more variety than me. My job is to bowl as much as possible and hope that it will create pressure and that person will be able to take wickets.
He said, “As we know that Varun is bowling well and he is a great bowler. It has improved a lot in the last two-three years. It is amazing to bowl with such a bowler. ”Moin took two wickets for 23 runs in four overs against Royals, while his young spin partner Chakraborty also took two wickets for 23 runs in four overs.
Narayan was not available for the match in Guwahati due to illness, so that KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane had to include the former England international player in the XI a few hours before the match. Unlike KKR spinners, Royals spinners Mahesh Teeca and Vanindu Hasranga could not live up to expectations on the pitch helping slow bowlers.
Royals’ spin bowling coach Sairaj Quite said, “We have spinners like Hasranga and Tishta who are definitely world class international players.” Several times (during the match) I felt that he bowled short while he did not do so, the spinners would have surely helped. “TITICA got no wickets and gave 32 runs in four overs while Hasranga took Rahane’s wicket and conceded 34 runs in three overs.
Very much said, “But then I think they have just come in the IPL, so now I am sure that they will have an impact in the upcoming matches.” He said, “I trust all the spinners, all bowlers of the team. I just want to say that this is a young team, a very impressive team in terms of batting and bowling. I am sure they will perform well in the upcoming matches. ”
