In the video, the AIMIM chief is seen saying, “Our fight was not for land. We are being insulted by giving away land. Our fight was for the mosque, for legal rights. We do not want anything in alms. We want our Don’t consider us as beggars. We are not beggars. We will fight for our rights. If I go to Seemanchal, the poorest area of India, and from Kishanganj to Araria, I will beg the people of Seemanchal to buy me 5 acres of land in UP. If you want to build a mosque, I swear to God the money will be collected within 48 hours.”
On 6 December 1992, Karsevaks demolished the disputed structure.
A group of Kar Sevaks from all over the country left for Ayodhya. This was a revolution which no one could even imagine. The government administration left no stone unturned to stop these kar sevaks. Curfew was imposed, roads were closed, vehicles going to Ayodhya were stopped and barricaded, but the kar sevaks reached Ayodhya through fields, footpaths and villages. On 6 December 1992, that day also came when a crowd of more than 1.5 lakh participated in the rally of Kar Sevaks. After this, as soon as the mob reached near the disputed structure, it became uncontrollable and within no time this mob demolished the disputed Babri structure.
This is how the background for demolishing the disputed structure was created.
In the late 80s and early 90s, the flame of Ram Janmabhoomi had awakened in the country. This was the time when kar sevaks and sages and saints from all over the country were marching to Ayodhya to build the Ram temple. There was Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government in the state and it was October 30, 1990. Curfew was imposed in Ayodhya due to the huge crowd of devotees, due to which kar sevaks and devotees were being stopped from entering Ayodhya.
The police had maintained a security cordon around more than a kilometer radius of the disputed structure. Meanwhile, the police opened fire on some Karsevaks who were moving towards the disputed structure and two Karsevaks died on the spot.
Bullets were fired on kar sevaks
After the death of 5 kar sevaks in Ayodhya on October 30, thousands of kar sevaks from all over the country started reaching Ayodhya. During this period the atmosphere of the entire country was very hot. Thousands of Kar Sevaks had reached Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya. Big Hindutva leaders like Ashok Singhal, Uma Bharti, Swami Vamdevi were moving towards Hanumangarhi along with thousands of kar sevaks from different directions.
Hanumangarhi was located at a short distance from the disputed structure. On the morning of 2 November, as soon as the kar sevaks moved forward from Hanuman Garhi, the police opened fire on the kar sevaks. According to government figures, 18 kar sevaks were killed in which the Kothari brothers of Kolkata were also included.
