A source told IANS news agency that Pakistan has demanded from the ICC that the hybrid model will be used in the future ICC tournaments, which will be hosted in India. Pakistan has sought written assurance from the ICC.
The thing to note is that Pakistan is hosting the Champions Trophy. According to reports, Team India will play the tournament in Dubai. If Team India qualifies, the semi-finals and final will also be played in Dubai.
Speaking to the news agency, the source said, “Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants written assurance from the world body (ICC) regarding hybrid model for future international events hosted by India. Decision on Champions Trophy on Wednesday. Expected to arrive by then.”
According to media reports, the Champions Trophy is to be played between 19 February and 09 March. However, after BCCI’s refusal, the schedule of the tournament has not been released yet. Now it will be interesting to see when the schedule of the tournament is released.
