ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Hybrid Model: Things seem to be becoming clear regarding Champions Trophy 2025. The report revealed that the ‘hybrid model’ has been approved for the tournament. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to conduct the Champions Trophy under the hybrid model. Apart from this, ICC has also accepted a big condition of Pakistan Board.
A report published in ‘Sports Tak’ said that after an agreement between BCCI and Pakistan Cricket Board, it was decided that the Champions Trophy matches will be played in Pakistan and Dubai under the hybrid model. Team India’s matches in the tournament will be held in Dubai.
Pakistan will host 10 matches of the Champions Trophy. All three matches of India in the league stage will be played in Dubai. Apart from India’s league matches, the semi-final and final matches of the tournament will also be held in Dubai. If Team India gets eliminated before the knockout stage, then the semi-finals and final will be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Pakistan will not get compensation
It was also mentioned in the report that the Pakistan Cricket Board had demanded from the ICC that if the Indian team refuses to tour Pakistan, then they will be compensated. ICC has also rejected the demand for compensation.
Pakistan team will not tour India for 2026 T20 World
The matter did not end there, the report further stated that the Pakistan team will not tour India for the T20 World Cup to be held in 2026. The T20 World Cup will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan demanded that they will play their matches in Colombo. However, nothing has been clarified yet regarding the knockout matches of the T20 World Cup.
