Priyanka Gandhi in Lok Sabha: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday launched a sharp attack on the government and claimed that if the results of the Lok Sabha elections had not come like this, then this government would have worked to change the Constitution. Participating in the discussion on ’75 years of glorious journey of the Constitution of India’ in the Lok Sabha, he alleged that the people of the country were being denied to save ‘one person’. This was his first speech in the House after being elected Lok Sabha member from Wayanad.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “Our Constitution is a protective shield for the people which keeps the countrymen safe. This is the shield of justice, unity, and freedom of expression.” He said that reservation is being weakened through ‘lateral entry’. Referring to the results of the Lok Sabha elections, Priyanka Gandhi said, “If these results had not come in the Lok Sabha, then they (ruling parties) would have worked to change the Constitution.” She said, “They (BJP) would have lost in the Lok Sabha elections. “After winning and losing, I realized that changing the Constitution will not work in this country.”
Priyanka Gandhi said that today the ruling party is mentioning the caste census because such results came. What the Congress MP meant was that the BJP should stay away from majority in the Lok Sabha elections. He alleged that the government is breaking the shield of economic justice. The Congress MP claimed that today farmers trust God.
Priyanka Gandhi said, “It is not just a document…Our Constitution is a symbol of justice, hope, expression and aspiration that burns in the heart of every Indian.” We have seen it in every corner of the country.” Referring to former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Priyanka Gandhi said that his name can be erased from books, it can be erased from speeches, but his name can be erased from freedom and the country. Their role in construction cannot be erased.
