Tata Group company will not send car to America
Trump tarif impact: US President Donald Trump has imposed reciperook tariff on many countries of the world. Apart from this, the decision to impose 25 percent tariff of Trump administration on imported cars has come into force from April 3. Meanwhile, Tata Motors -owned unit Jaguar Land Rover i.e. Jaguar Land Rover has stopped exporting cars to America from its manufacturing plant in Britain keeping in mind the change in tariff structure. A spokesperson of Jaguar Land Rover, who made a luxury car, gave this information in a statement.
The company spokesperson said, ‘America is a special market for Luxury brands of JLR. We are working with our business partners towards the new trading term. We are implementing our short-term action, including stopping export consignment in April. We are making plans ranging from our mid to long term.
Earlier on April 2, JLR had said that its luxury brands have global appeal and their business is used to facing changing market situations. Our priority is now to give surveys to our customers around the world and address the new trading term of America.
Jaguar Land Rover brand has a deep presence in the American market. In the financial year 2024, out of more than 4 lakh units of JLR, about 23 per cent was sold in the US market. All these vehicles were exported from its British plant. Tata Motors bought JLR from Ford Motors in 2008.
