IND vs AUS 3rd Test Playing XI: Harshit Rana is being criticized for his poor performance in the Pink Ball Test played in Adelaide. Now the situation is becoming such that the demand to drop Harshit from the playing eleven from the third test is at its peak. Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar has also advised to drop Harshit from the Brisbane Test. According to him, Akashdeep should be included in the playing eleven as the third fast bowler. Let us remind you that Harshit Rana gave away 86 runs in 16 overs in the first innings of the Adelaide Test and was not able to take any wicket.
ind vs aus 3rd test possible playing xi harshit rana to be replaced by akashdeep predicts sanjay manjrekar border gavaskar trophy 2024
During a discussion, Sanjay Manjrekar has said that if the Brisbane pitch helps the fast bowlers more than Adelaide, then Akashdeep can prove to be more effective. Manjrekar said, “I do not want Harshit Rana to be out, but it is very possible for it to happen. If the Brisbane pitch provides a lot of help to the fast bowlers, then Akashdeep can play the role of the fourth fast bowler. Therefore, the Indian team Management will have to think carefully.”
Harshit Rana-out, Akashdeep-in
Sanjay Manjrekar also supported the strategy of three main fast bowlers, which Team India has been adopting till now. He said, “Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana or Akashdeep, this bowling line-up looks inadequate. If the pitch remains the same as it was in Adelaide, then it may be right to give Akashdeep a chance.”
Till now, in the two matches of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, the Indian team has been dependent on the trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana. At the same time, Nitish Reddy has been bowling spells of 1-2 overs in between. This strategy was failing miserably in the pink ball test, due to which questions were being raised that Jasprit Bumrah was not getting support from the other end.
