IND vs Eng Odie Series: After the seventh century of opener Shubman Gill’s career, India crushed England by 142 runs here in the third and last ODI on Wednesday, in the third and last ODI, and cleaned the soup 3-0 and the strong view of his preparations before the Champions Trophy Presented.
Chasing India’s huge target of 357 runs, England team Akshar Patel (two wickets for 22), Harshit Rana (two wickets for 31 runs), Arshdeep Singh (two wickets for 33) and Hardik Pandya (for 38 runs Two wickets) were piled on 214 runs in 34.2 overs in front of the sharp bowling.
Shubman Gill scored 112 runs
Both Gas Etkinson and Tom Banton scored 38-38 runs for England to bat at number eight. Apart from these two, opener Ben Docket (34) was able to cross the 30 -run figure. India before this, in addition to the innings of 112 runs with three sixes and 14 fours in 104 balls of Gill, his second wicket with Virat Kohli (52) with his 116 and Shreyas Iyer (78) with a third wicket partnership with a 104 -run partnership. Adil Rashid took 4 wickets
For England, leg -spinner Adil Rashid was the most successful bowler who took four wickets for 64 runs while fast bowler Mark Wood took two wickets for 45 runs. Ducchm and Phil Soult (23), who came out to chase the target, got 60 runs in 6.2 overs to get a faster starting for the first wicket. Arshdeep, however, gave India a comeback by dismissing both openers in consecutive overs. Docket waved Arshdeep’s slow ball in the air and gave an easy catch to Indian captain Rohit Sharma on mid -off, while in the next over of this fast bowler, Salt also gave an easy catch to Akshar on the point.
Banton and Joe Root (24) took the score to 100 runs. Bantton was lucky at the score of 24 runs when Akshar missed the opportunity to run him out. Bantton, however, could not take advantage of this and caught wicketkeeper Lokesh Rahul off Kuldeep Yadav (one wicket for 38 runs). The route also after this, playing the ball coming inwards of Akshar on the wickets.
Disappointing performance of England batsmen
Harry Brook (19) scored the team’s score to 150 runs in the 24th over with a six on Kuldeep but in the next over, captain Jose Butler (06) played Harshit’s ball for wickets. In Harshit’s next over, the ball collided with wickets after Brook’s hand was hit and England scored 161 runs for six wickets. After scoring nine runs, Liam Livingstone stumped Washington Sundar (one wicket for 43 runs) on the wide ball at the hands of Rahul, which also broke the correct hope of England.
Adil Rashid (00) also played Pandya’s ball on wickets. Akshar then ended England’s innings by bowling Atkinson. He hit six fours and a six in the 19 -ball innings. Earlier, Indian vice -captain Gill also did a unique feat of scoring a century in all three international formats on the same ground. He has also scored a century in the IPL at Narendra Modi Stadium. Gill advised both fast bowlers and spinners. He showed the best footwork from the beginning at the crease.
Virat Kohli herbs fifty
Kohli, who has been struggling with poor form for some time, took time to achieve the rhythm but played some great shots after coming into the rhythm. Kohli hit Wood’s overpich ball in the covers and hit his first four and then the fast bowler Saqib Mahmood also hit two fours. Kohli completed his 73rd half -century off 50 balls with sixes and one run on Liam Livingstone. However, he was seen battling against Rashid.
Kohli was lucky at the score of 38 runs off Rashid’s ball when on taking DRS on Pagbadha’s trusted appeal, the replay showed that the ball was mildly picked out of the leg side. Kohli, however, soon after completing the half -century, Rashid was caught by wicketkeeper Phil Salt on the fast -spinned ball. He hit seven fours and a six in his 55 -ball innings. Rashid dismissed Kohli for the fifth time in ODI matches.
Kohli, along with this, remained 37 runs behind becoming the third batsman to complete 14 thousand ODIs. Earlier, India started bad to bat after losing the toss, when captain and century of the last match, Rohit (01) caught the Salt off Wood in the second over. Iyer once again appeared in a brilliant rhythm and put shots around the field but was caught by Salt in an attempt to tamper with Rashid’s leg side. He hit eight fours and two sixes, facing 64 balls.
Earlier, Gill completed a century in 95 balls with fours on Wood. However, he was bowled by Rashid after this. Hardik Pandya (17) hit two sixes on Rashid but was bowled on the next ball. Lokesh Rahul finally scored 40 runs in 29 balls.
