
Bangladesh News: The situation in Bangladesh is not normal after the coup. Yunus government of Bangladesh has also been in constant controversies. While on one hand the government of Bangladesh is opposing the border fencing by India, on the other hand they are busy closing the Bangladesh border with Myanmar.
After the coup in Bangladesh, cases of illegal infiltration from Bangladesh border into India are continuously increasing. To stop this infiltration, the Government of India had started the work of border fencing.
Bangladesh is arresting Rohingyas and sending them back
Bangladesh government had shown harsh attitude regarding border fencing. He had summoned the Indian ambassador regarding this matter and expressed his concerns. Bangladesh had called it a violation of the 1975 border agreement. At the same time, Bangladesh is arresting Rohingyas coming to their country. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) had arrested about 36 Rohingya on January 5 and sent them back to Myanmar.
Apart from this, on January 11, at least 58 Rohingya refugees were caught while they were trying to cross the Myanmar border. Rohingyas have been taking refuge in Bangladesh for a long time. At present there are about 10 lakh Rohingyas in Bangladesh. The Yunus government is continuously taking strict steps to stop the Rohingyas from crossing the border from Myanmar.
BGB Chief is coming to India to talk about border fencing issue
In the month of February, the Border Guard Force Chief of Bangladesh can hold a meeting with Indian officials. This will be the first meeting after the coup in Bangladesh. In this, major issues like fencing the border and dealing with cross-border crime can be discussed. A meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BJB) Director Major General Mohammad Ashrafazzaman Siddiqui and Border Security Force (BSF) Chief Daljit Singh Chaudhary is likely to be held between 16-19 February.
Difficulties increased for Rohingyas
The problems of Rohingyas are increasing due to increasing strictness on the Myanmar border. Speaking to The Guardian, a Rohingya civilian said, “We are forced to struggle even to survive. We are not getting food. We are not getting clean water to drink. Every day we have to fight for our survival. We have lost all hope after what is happening to our people in Bangladesh.
