Morne Morkel Father Death News: The Indian team has suffered a terrible trouble just before the Champions Trophy 2025. The team of the team’s bowling coach Morne Morkel has passed away, due to which he has to return to South Africa home from Dubai. This news came two days after the Indian team’s land in Dubai. A media report has revealed that Morkel has returned to Africa, but there is no update on how long they will come back.
According to Dainik Jagran, when the Indian team came to train on Monday, February 17, Morkel was not with the team, but on February 16, he was seen with the team. Morkel’s absence is a big shock for the Indian team as Jasprit Bumrah has already been out of the team due to injury. Mohammed Shami has definitely become a part of the team, but he has also returned after 14 months after recovering from injury. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana do not have much experience in ODI format. Therefore, returning to Morkel’s home is nothing short of trouble for Team India.
Bowling coaches were made in September last year
Morne Morkel took over in September last year as a bowling coach of the Indian cricket team. The support staff of Head Coach Gautam Gambhir currently consists of Abhishek Nair and Ryan Ten Doishe along with Morkel. At the same time, T. Dilip remains a fielding coach. Recently, Sitanshu Kotak has joined Team India as a batting coach.
