Dispute continues between India and Canada after the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The Foreign Ministry on Friday accused the Canadian media of defaming India. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has rejected Canadian media reports which claimed that India did not grant visas to some Canadian citizens.
In fact, recently the Canadian media had published some news in which there were allegations that India was interfering in the affairs of Canada by misusing the visa policy. India denied visas to many Canadian citizens because of their support for the Khalistani agenda. The Indian government is interfering in their internal affairs by using the visa policy.
On this, India also accused the Canadian media of interfering in the internal affairs of the country through wrong information. “We are not interfering in Canada’s affairs but they are interfering in our affairs,” Jaiswal said.
Jaiswal said-

It is our sovereign right to whom we give visa or not. Canadian media is trying to defame us through wrong news.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Canada will have to stop the anti-India activities happening there.
3 Indian students murdered in Canada in 7 days The Ministry of External Affairs has also expressed concern over the murder of 3 Indian students in Canada in the last 7 days. Jaiswal told-

Canada has the largest number of Indian students in the world. About four and a half lakh Indian students are studying there. We appeal to them to remain vigilant amid the deteriorating law and order situation in Canada. We have also issued an advisory for Indians living in Canada.
Canada’s Consulates in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver are in touch with the families of the killed students and are providing full assistance to them.
At the same time, India has also demanded that the government there should take action against the activities taking place against India in Canada. Khalistanis should stop getting political shelter.

Indian student Ritika Rajput died on December 7 in British Columbia, Canada.
Why is Trudeau spoiling relations with India for Khalistanis?Canada holds parliamentary elections in October 2025. Khalistan supporters are considered a big vote bank of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s party. However, last month itself, Khalistan supporter Jagmeet Singh’s NDP party, which was part of the Trudeau government, has withdrawn its support.
Due to the break of the alliance, the Trudeau government was reduced to minority. However, in the majority test held on October 1, Trudeau’s Liberal Party got the support of another party. Because of this, Trudeau passed the floor test.
