Delhi aiims mri machine news: India has developed its first indigenous magnificent resonance imaging (MRI) machine system. This machine will soon be installed in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi and its clinical trial will start from October. It is expected that with the arrival of this machine, the price of MRI for patients can be about half. According to Dr. M S Srinivas, director of Delhi AIIMS, most healthcare equipment and machines in India are currently imported from abroad. Due to this, more spends have to be spent for MRI.
According to Mint’s news In India, a medical device worth about Rs 6885 crore was imported in India in the year 2023-24. About 70 percent of medical equipment is imported from abroad, due to which their cost increases significantly. Patients have to bear the brunt of this and have to spend a lot for many types of imaging including MRI. If the country’s first indigenous machine is successful in a clinical human trial, then it is expected that the expenses of MRI will be cut a lot and people will get benefit.
Now the question is what is the work of the MRI machine? Dr. Sonia Rawat told News18, Direct of Preventive Health and Wellness Department of Sir Gangaram Hospital in New Delhi That MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine is an advanced medical device, used to create clear and high quality images of structures inside the body. This machine uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves. This technique is capable of taking pictures of various organs and tissues of the body without using any radiation. There is a strong magnet inside the MRI machine, which makes a clean image by the computer’s internal organs.
When does MRI need to do? According to the doctor, MRI is used when an accurate assessment of a patient’s internal organ or tissue conditions. When there are any illness, injury or other physical problems, then MRI is done. This technique is particularly important for brain, spine, joint, heart and other internal organs.
