Kerala Nurse to be executed in Yemen: All efforts of the family to save Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya, who was sentenced to death in Yemen, have failed. Yemen’s President Rashad Al-Alimi has approved the hanging of Nimisha Priya. To save Nimisha from the death penalty, an attempt was made to give blood money and an apology was also sought from the President, but none of these measures worked.
It is noteworthy that Indian citizen Nimisha Priya has been given death sentence for the murder of a Yemeni citizen. According to Yemeni media reports, after getting approval from the President of Yemen, Nimisha Priya can be hanged in the next one month.
Nimisha is in jail in Yemen since 2017
Nimisha Priya, who was sentenced to death in Yemen, is in jail in Yemen since 2017. However, the decision of the President of Yemen is a big blow for Nimisha’s family. Nimisha’s family had been trying for a long time to save their 36-year-old daughter from the death penalty. At the same time, the Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘The Government of India is providing all possible assistance to nurse Nimisha Priya, lodged in the Central Jail of Sanaa, the capital of Yemen.’
For which crime was Nimisha punished?
Nimisha, a resident of Palakkad, Kerala, had gone to Yemen with her husband and daughter, where she was working as a nurse. After working as a nurse in many hospitals, Nimisha opened her own clinic in Yemen. In this, Nimisha had taken help from Yemeni citizen Talal Mahdi. When Talal asked for his share after earning from the clinic, the matter escalated into a fight between the two. Talal was also arrested in 2016 on the complaint of Nimisha. Talal had Nimisha’s passport, to get her passport back in 2017, Nimisha gave Talal an intoxicating injection and Talal died due to overdose.
Talal’s body was cut into pieces after the murder
After Talal’s murder, Nimisha Priya along with a friend cut his body into pieces and disposed it in a water tank. The police arrested both of them and the court found the allegations true and sentenced Nimisha to death.
