Apple, the world’s largest tech company, has appointed Sabih Khan of Indian origin as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. He will replace Jeff Williams at the end of this month, who has been in this position since 2015. Sabih has achieved this position in the world of technology by coming out of a small town like Moradabad.
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said, “Sabih is a great strategist who has played an important role in making Apple’s supply chain. He hearts with heart and works with his values. I am sure that he will prove to be a great Coo.”
Sabih manages global supply chain
Sabih Khan manages Apple’s global supply chain. This means that he handles the quality of the product’s quality, planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and product delivery. He also leads Apple’s supplier response from programs, which protect the interests of laborers working in production facilities worldwide.
The company’s carbon footprint led by Sabih has also reduced more than 60%. That is, Apple has reduced the environmental damage caused by its production and operations to a great extent.

Sabih’s family went to Singapore
Sabih Khan was born in 1966 in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. When he was in fifth grade, his family moved to Singapore. From there he completed his studies and later moved to America. Sabih earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. He then also received a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Renseller Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

In 2019, he became Apple’s Senior Vice President of Operations.
What will happen to Jeff Williams?
Jeff Williams, who is currently the COO of Apple, will hand over his role to Sabih at the end of this month. Jeff has been with Apple for 27 years and said, “I have worked with Sabih for 27 years and I think he is the world’s most talented operation executive.”
Before retiring, Jeff will continue to watch design and health initiatives, so that the transition can be done easily.
