Earlier in April 2024, IndiGo ordered 30 Airbus A350 aircraft.
India’s largest airline IndiGo has ordered 30 new Airbus A350 Wide-Body Aircraft to buy. The price of this deal is said to be 4 to 5 billion dollars (about ₹ 40,000 crore). The company’s CEO Peter Alber has given this information on Sunday (1 June).
Earlier in April 2024, IndiGo ordered 30 A350 aircraft for the first time. Now the order of the company’s total wide body plane has reached 60 aircraft.
Indigo is buying 1400 aircraft from Airbus
Indigo’s CEO Peter Albers said at the annual meeting of IATA (International Air Transport Association), “We had taken the option to buy 70 and A350, out of which the order of 30 has now been finalized.” Airbus Chief Commercial Officer said, IndiGo now has a total order book of 1,400 aircraft with us.
Indigo has a fleet of over 430 aircraft
IndiGo has a fleet of over 430 aircraft. Of these, the company has only 3 wide body planes. Two of them have also been leased from the Turkish company. Indigo is the largest airline in the country in terms of market share. The company’s stock in the Indian airline market is around 64%. It operates more than 2000 flights daily.
Turki company will have to return aircraft in three months
The aircraft leasing deal with Indigo’s Turkish Airlines will be canceled after three months. Director General of Civil Aviation i.e. DGCA said on 30 May (Friday) that lease duration with Indigo’s Turkish Airlines is being extended for just three months. After this, IndiGo will have to return all the aircraft on lease from the Turkish Company.
IndiGo made a profit of 3000 crores
Interglobe Aviation, a company operating Indigo, has received a net profit of Rs 3,068 crore in the fourth of FY 2024-25. It has increased by 62% on an annual basis. It was Rs 1,895 crore in the same quarter of last year.
The company has made this profit due to increasing demand in air travel. In the January-March quarter, IndiGo operation rose 24% to Rs 22,152 crore on an annual basis.
