Ishan Kishan (106 not out of 47 balls) was filled with brilliant efforts of Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurlel, which made the Sunrisers Hyderabad start his campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday by trampling Rajasthan Royals 44.
Kishan completed a brilliant century off 45 balls, blowing up the weak attack of Royals. Trevis Head scored 67 off 31 balls at the beginning of the innings and scored an arrest against the bowlers of Royals. Head shared an 85 -run partnership with 39 balls for the second wicket with Kishan, who was making his debut for this franchise. The two together hit 20 fours and nine sixes, scoring 286 runs for six wickets.
This is the second highest score of IPL. The biggest score of IPL is also named after SRH. The team scored 287 runs for three wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore last year.
Although the Royals team never appeared in a position to chase the target, the team managed to score 242 runs for six wickets, recovering from a poor start. In the humid summer of Hyderabad, Royals captain Ryan Parag made a big mistake by deciding to bowl first on the most flat pitch of IPL. The match will also be known for the brilliant performance of three Indian wicketkeeper batsmen. Samson (66 runs off 37 balls) and Jurlel (70 off 35 balls) managed to intimidate SRH fans for a while by parting 111 runs in 9.5 overs. He played big shots in a comfortable shots, taking advantage of easy circumstances for batting.
Sunrisers Hyderabad was always considered a victory with the batsmen’s aggressive performance but the decisive turn of the match came in two overs. Adam Jampa (one wicket for 48 runs in four overs) and captain Pat Cummins (60 runs without any success) spent seven runs in the 10th and 11th over, leading to the necessary run speed.
Harshal Patel (two wickets for 34 runs in four overs) once again bowled brilliantly, especially in the last over, he did not give Rajasthan a chance to return. The dot ball (the ball on which no run was scored) had a major impact on the result of the match. SRH played only 15 dots balls against 25 dot balls from Rajasthan batsmen.
Simarjit Singh (two wickets for 46 runs in three overs) gave SRH a great start by taking wickets in the initial overs. Rajasthan lost three wickets for 50 runs. Jurael, however, expressed his intentions against this bowler by hitting three sixes.
Jurael and Samson’s wickets fell under the 14th and 15th over three balls, almost fixed the Royals’ defeat. Shimron Hetmyer (42 runs off 23 balls) and Shubham Dubey (34 unbeaten on 11 balls) reduced the team’s defeat difference by putting some big shots.
Earlier, SRH continued its rhythm of the previous season but the team missed out on beating out the best score of itself and IPL due to losing two wickets in the final over. Jofra Archer looted 76 runs in four overs. He became the highest run bowler in IPL history without taking wickets.
In the first 10 overs of the match, Kishan’s dominance in the first 10 overs and Kishan’s dominance was so much that Abhishek Sharma (24 runs off 11 balls) and Nitish Reddy (30 runs off 15 balls) faded.
Henrich Klassen (34 off 14 balls) played some great shots against Royals bowlers in the last over. In the last few years, the year of 2024 was difficult for Kishan, one of the main players of Mumbai Indians. He had to lose his central contract due to ignoring domestic cricket for this league and Mumbai’s franchise also did not retain him.
This short stature player from Patna has made a comeback with a new passion and has performed strongly in his first match for the new franchise. He can play more matches on this flat pitch. He would like to strengthen his claim to return to the national team with such a performance.
From the initial over against the Royals’ most experienced bowler Archer, the head dominated and scored 23 runs. When the head hit a six on the bridge shot against him, Kishan sent him the ball for six runs with the help of a scoop shot using his speed on the extra cover.
While Archer’s speed was proving to be his weak link, the low speed of Fazalhak Farooqui (49 runs without any success) and Sandeep Sharma, one wicket for 51 runs in four overs) became a problem for him. Abujha spinner Mahesh Tikrita (two wickets for 52 runs in four overs) got two successes but could not bowl with the right length. For Royals, only Tushar Deshpande (three wickets for 44 runs in four overs) returned with a respectable figure at the end of the innings.
