ISKCON in Bangladesh: The trend of violence and hate speeches against minorities in Bangladesh is not stopping. A video of a fundamentalist person targeting ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video, the person openly demands a ban on ISKCON and threatens to take violent action if the government does not do so.
While sharing this video, ISKCON Vice President Radharaman Das said that this speech is not limited to any one area, but such statements are being made in every corner of Bangladesh. While tweeting, he has questioned the international community regarding this incident as to why action is not being taken against such radicals.
Open threats of violence, but no action
The man seen in the video says, “This is not the time for religious practices, but to fight ISKCON. We will cut them with the sword and kill each one.” Such statements not only hurt religious harmony but also create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity for the people of the minority community.
Sharing some parts of this speech, Radharaman Das wrote that it is very surprising why such persons have not been arrested yet. His question is whether the world will remain silent against this barbarity?
Just listen to this kind of speech being openly delivered in every neighborhood of #Bangladesh: “ISKCON has to be banned, otherwise we will cut them by our swords, this is not the time for the religious practice. the time is for fighting with ISKCON. Kill them one by one. if… pic.twitter.com/b6IWLG1hik

Series of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh
Attacks on minority communities like Hindu and ISKCON have been happening in Bangladesh before also. In the last few years, many temples were demolished, statues were vandalized and people were made victims of violence. These cases of religious intolerance are not just local issues, but are affecting the image of Bangladesh at the international level.
People of the minority community have many times demanded protection from the government, but there are no concrete signs of improvement in the situation. International human rights organizations and other countries including India have also appealed to the Bangladesh government to take action on this.
