Israel Attack on Iran: After starting a massive attack against Iran, Israel posted on its embassy websites on Friday (June 13, 2025), stating that Israel is shutting down its embassies around the world and appealing to its citizens to be cautious and not to display Jewish or Israeli symbols in public places.
The statements issued by Israel said that their consulate will no longer provide services. Appeal has been made to citizens that if they are facing any danger, then cooperate with local security services. However, no time-limit has been given for the embassies to be closed.
Instructions for Israeli living abroad to contact the Ministry of External Affairs
According to the report of the news agency Reuters, the person picking up the phone in the Berlin Embassy did not give any other details. Also, the Israeli Foreign Ministry has not given any reply immediately regarding this matter. Israelis living abroad are being encouraged to fill a form to update the Ministry of External Affairs about their location. This was done even after the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, so that complete preparations can be made from Israel in time. The statement said that in view of recent developments, Israeli missions will remain closed around the world and can not be provided with consular services.
Increased security of Jewish sites in Germany
German Chancellor Frederick Merge spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday. He said that Germany is increasing the security of Jews and Israeli sites. The area around the Israeli embassy in Berlin was largely quiet and empty, except some police and police vehicles. Reuters quoted an eyewitness as saying that security has been increased outside the Great Synagogue of Stockholm and a police van and car parked near the building.
