Israel Strike Syria: On Thursday (January 2) night, Israel bombed Syrian army positions located in the southern area of Aleppo city of Syria. According to Syrian media reports, the Israeli army targeted a defense facility and scientific research center located near the city of Al-Safira. These attacks are part of the latest air strikes by Israel inside Syria, which have increased rapidly after the fall of Bashar al-Assad.
According to the report of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 7 massive explosions were heard during the Israeli attack on defense factories south of Aleppo, Syria. However, there was no immediate information about any casualties in these attacks. AFP quoted a resident of the Al-Safira area as saying that the attacks were so powerful that the ground shook and doors and windows of houses were blown open.
Continuous air strikes on Syria
Describing the magnitude of the attack, a local resident said, “This was the most powerful attack ever, which turned night into day.” Israel began frequent air strikes on Syria after Islamic rebels toppled Bashar al-Assad from power early last month.
Syrian navy also attacked
Israel has carried out more than 500 airstrikes in the past few weeks, including attacks on the Syrian navy. Apart from this, Israel has also established control over the buffer zone located near the Golan Heights. According to some reports, Israeli forces have been seen only 20 kilometers from Damascus.
Hezbollah suffered losses due to Israeli attack
Hezbollah and other pro-Syrian groups have also suffered heavy losses due to these attacks. Instability in Syria has increased due to Israel’s continuous attacks, which has further complicated the conflict in the region.
