Jasprit Bumrah Most Wickets Series in Australia: Jasprit Bumrah has made another historical record in his name in cricket. He has now become the Indian bowler with the highest wicket taker in any Test series played in Australia. He has broken the record of Indian legend Bishan Singh Bedi in spin bowling. Before the start of the Sydney Test, Bumrah had taken 30 wickets in the current series against Australia and now by taking 2 wickets he has achieved a historic feat.
Bishan Singh Bedi took a total of 31 wickets against Australia in the 1977-78 series. That record has been destroyed by Jasprit Bumrah after 47 years. By taking the wicket of Usman Khawaja on the very first day of the Sydney Test, he had taken his 31st wicket in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. At the beginning of the second day, he took his 32nd wicket in the series by dismissing Marnus Labuschagne.

Status of current series
After completion of four matches in the current series, Australia has a lead of 2-1. Now the fifth test is very important. If Team India loses this match then it will not be able to qualify for the World Test Championship. But if it wins the match, then the Indian team will have to wish that Sri Lanka defeats Australia by at least 1-0 margin in the upcoming Test series. This will be the first time in the last 10 years that India will not be able to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy because now the series can end in a draw of 2-2 at the most. India has been winning this series for 4 consecutive times.
