Jasprit Bumrah Champions Trophy: The Indian team for Champions Trophy 2025 is to be announced today i.e. on January 18. Captain Rohit Sharma and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar will announce the Indian squad in a press conference. Meanwhile, there is doubt over Jasprit Bumrah’s play. Will Bumrah be a part of the team or not? If you become a part of the team, will you play or not? Amidst many such questions, a new update came out that Bumrah’s inclusion in the Champions Trophy squad is almost certain.
Jasprit Bumrah was injured in the Sydney Test against Australia. During investigation it was found that he did not suffer any serious injury but there was swelling in his waist. The latest update on Bumrah’s fitness is that he has been prohibited from practicing much and is being constantly monitored by physiotherapists at BCCI’s Center of Excellence. For this reason, the team management, coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma will have to take a very careful decision regarding Bumrah.
BCCI accepted the advice received by medical experts, which stated that Jasprit Bumrah needs rest for at least 5 weeks. After 5 weeks of rest, he will have to get tested once again, only then it will be decided whether he will be able to return to the field or not. Even if Bumrah is declared fit, in that case he can be tested in the last ODI match against England, which will be played on 12 February. But the last date to declare the final squad of Champions Trophy is 11th February. At present the update is that Bumrah’s name will be included in the Champions Trophy squad, but whether he will play the match or not depends on his fitness.
