An incident of robbery took place in broad daylight on Wednesday at Station Road in Khairthal. Three armed criminals targeted gold and silver trader Naveen Khandelwal and looted gold jewelery and cash worth about Rs 35 lakh.

The miscreants looted a bag full of jewelery and cash
Businessman Naveen Khandelwal said- He comes daily from Alwar to supply jewelery to Khairthal and surrounding areas. Even on Wednesday, he supplied jewelery to jewelers in Bawal from Alwar at 12 noon and reached Khairthal at 4 pm. After delivery of jewellery, we were going to catch the train from the station.
As soon as he reached the railway station road, he was surrounded by three armed miscreants riding a bike. The miscreants threatened the businessman by showing him a pistol and snatched the bag and ran away. The bag contained about half a kilo of gold jewelery and cash worth Rs 1 lakh 87 thousand.
Traders demanded arrest of miscreants
There was chaos at the spot after the robbery incident which took place in broad daylight. A crowd of local businessmen gathered at the spot. On receiving the information, the police station also reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Police interrogated nearby shopkeepers and eyewitnesses. Leaders of the business organization reached the spot and demanded immediate arrest of the accused from the administration. Police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed on Station Road and surrounding areas so that the miscreants can be identified.
Police station in-charge Dinesh Kumar said, “We have reached the spot and started scanning the CCTV footage. Several teams have been formed to search for the miscreants. The accused will be arrested soon.”
Here the trade board has demanded from the administration to make strong security arrangements in the market area and increase patrolling. Traders have warned that if the criminals are not arrested soon and adequate security arrangements are not made in the market area, they will protest by closing their business.
