Fast bowler Khalil Ahmed has signed a deal with Essex to play the county championship and ODI match by the end of the 2025 season. 27-year-old Khalil Ahmed has been in England since the end of May, he played for India-A. He dismissed James Reve, George Hill, Chris Woakes and his partner Jordan Cox in Essex in the first match at Northampton.
Khalil Ahmed said in a statement released by the club on Saturday, “I have heard a lot about the history of the club. I am excited to be a part of it and try to have immediate effect. I am eager to play in Chelmsford, meet Essex members and fans and perform so that they can be proud of.”
Essex’s cricket director Chris Silverwood said, “We were influenced by his performance for India A and we firmly believe that he can further strengthen our already strong seam attack. As a left -arm seater, he presents something different and will give a new enthusiasm in both the team in both the ODI and County Championships.”
Playing for Rajasthan in domestic cricket, Khalil Ahmed has taken 92 wickets in 63 matches at an average of 27.92, with his best performance 4-35. At the same time, in 20 first-class matches, Ahmed has taken 56 wickets at an average of 27.67, with his best performance 5-37.
