Now India’s chess star Koneru Humpy has once again proved his ability. Koneru Humpy has won the Rapid Chess World Championship 2024 title. She achieved this historic feat by defeating Irene Sukandar of Indonesia in the final match held on Sunday. This is the second time for Hampi that he has won the Rapid Chess World Championship title. Earlier he had won this title in Georgia in 2019.

Koneru Humpy has now become the only player along with Xu Wenjun of China to win the title twice in this format. His victory is another proud moment for India in the field of chess. Recently, D. Gukesh had brought glory to the country by defeating Ding Liren of China in the Classical Format World Championship.
37-year-old Koneru Humpy won the title by scoring a total of 8.5 points in 11 rounds. His career in rapid chess has been brilliant. He won a bronze medal in Moscow in 2012 and a silver medal in Samarkand, Uzbekistan in 2022. His consistency and excellent performance have made him one of the best chess players in the world.
