After seven years of public discord, Krushna Abhishek and his uncle Govinda, 90s Bollywood icon, have reconciled. The emotional reunion took place during Govinda’s appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Showwhere the two performed together, showcasing their renewed camaraderie.
The reconciliation was captured in a behind-the-scenes vlog shared by Archana Puran Singh, revealing touching moments from the episode. Krishna expressed his happiness, calling the reunion the end of his “saat saal ka vanvaas” (seven years of exile). He fondly recalled the last time he performed in front of Govinda on Comedy Circus nearly a decade ago.
Govinda, appearing in the vlog after a recent incident where he accidentally injured himself during rehearsals, seemed equally at ease, sharing the stage with his nephew.
Reflecting on their “Bharat milaap”, Krushna said, “Aisa milap hua hai, maza hi aa gaya (This reunion was so enjoyable). I think it was one of the best moments. During the act, he took my case, but he’s my mama (uncle); he can do anything. I even wanted to tell him I’ve stolen so many things from him, and he doesn’t even know.”
Krushna humorously recounted his childhood antics of stealing Govinda’s iconic outfits, including shirts worn in his popular songs. “At night, I’d open his cupboard and take his shirt. Then I’d wear it confidently in front of him. Once he caught me and asked, ‘Where did you get this shirt?’ I said, ‘You gave it to me.’ He replied, ‘That’s not possible,’ and his spot boy confirmed it was needed for continuity. That day, I was caught,” he shared with laughter.
The feud between the two began years ago when Krushna’s wife, Kashmera Shah, reportedly made a remark about Govinda’s wife, Sunita, leading to a series of public disputes. However, their reconciliation on The Kapil Sharma Show has brought an end to their estrangement.
Krushna, now reflecting on his journey, highlighted how life has changed, noting with a smile that his wardrobe now includes Dolce & Gabbana shoes worth Rs 5 lakh.
