India had long been demanding extradition of Canadian citizen of Pakistani -origin Tawwur Rana. Tahwwur Rana is wanted in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack case.

After losing a legal battle in lower courts and several federal courts, Tahwwur Rana last approached the US Appeal Court for North Circuit in San Francisco. This was the last legal chance for Rana not to be extradited to India.
