
Maha Kumbh 2025: Laurene Powell Jobs, wife of Apple co-founder late Steve Jobs, has come to India to attend the Mahakumbh 2025 organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, a letter written by Steve Jobs in 1974 regarding Kumbh remains a topic of discussion. In this letter, Jobs had expressed his interest in the Kumbh Mela and his desire to visit India. It was recently auctioned by Bonhams for US $ 5,00,312 (approximately Rs 4.32 crore).
Jobs wrote this letter to his childhood friend Tim Brown on February 23, his 19th birthday. After this letter came to light, it is believed that Steve Jobs’s wife Powell has come to Mahakumbh to fulfill her husband’s wish.
What was written in the letter?
Steve Jobs wrote in the letter, “I am now living on a farm in the mountains between Los Gatos and Santa Cruz, I want to go to India for the Kumbh Mela, which starts in April. “I will go sometime in March, although not sure yet.” He wrote “Peace, Steve Jobs” at the end of the letter.
Lauren Powell Jobs’s Mahakumbh Yatra
Steve Jobs’s wife, Lauren Powell has reached Prayagraj with her 40-member team. When she came to Mahakumbh, her guru Swami Kailashananda gave her a new Hindu name of ‘Kamala’. She is participating in spiritual practices like meditation, Kriya Yoga and Pranayam. However, he did not take a dip in the Sangam due to allergy due to huge crowd on Makar Sankranti. With his arrival the event has attracted even more international attention.
Mahakumbh 2025 begins
So far, more than 5 crore 15 lakh devotees have taken a dip of faith in the Sangam in the Mahakumbh, which started from 13 January 2025. The event will run till February 26, and more than 40 crore people are expected to participate in it.
