An estimated loss of Rs 13 lakh crore has been caused by the fire in Los Angeles, American state of California. According to Ecuador, a private company providing weather related services in America, the total loss to California due to this fire will be between 135 billion to 150 billion US dollars.
Apart from other things, damage caused to houses and other buildings has also been included in the damage assessment. Apart from this, the damage caused to basic infrastructure and the long term expense of rebuilding them is also included. The fire has not been controlled yet, so these figures will increase further.
So far 10 people have died in the fire
According to media reports, 10 people have died so far in the fire in Los Angeles. This is the largest fire ever recorded in California. The fire that has been burning for the last 4 days is spread over approximately 40 thousand acres. Out of this, an area of 29 thousand acres has been completely burnt.

About 50 thousand people have been asked to vacate their homes immediately. 3 lakh people have been instructed to go to safe places. The administration has warned of further spread of the fire till Saturday. 1 lakh people are living without electricity.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said of the situation, “The fire looks as if an atomic bomb had been dropped on these areas.”
