Maharashtra Cabinet expansion: In Maharashtra, calls have been made to the MLAs joining the cabinet for the swearing in ceremony to be held at 4 pm. Many leaders from BJP to Shiv Sena and NCP have been reached to take oath as ministers. Madhuri Misal and Girish Mahajan have confirmed this from BJP’s side, while sources say that calls have been made to make 12 Shiv Sena MLAs ministers.
Mahayuti had won in the recent Maharashtra Assembly elections. Apart from BJP, the grand alliance includes Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP. After the landslide victory of Mahayuti, on December 5, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister and Eknath Shinde-Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. At present the cabinet of Maharashtra government is expanding. According to the scheduled program, the oath of office of ministers will be administered to the MLAs at Raj Bhavan in Nagpur at 4 pm.
Till now there is a call to make 38 MLAs ministers!

BJP’s Madhuri Misal-Girish Mahajan got a call
Girish Mahajan has reached Nagpur. On cabinet expansion, Girish Mahajan says- ‘Our President Bawankule told me that I have to take oath as a minister. This is the third time I will take oath as a minister. I express my gratitude to the party and the top leadership. Madhuri Misal of BJP says- ‘I just came to know that my name is in the list. We will take oath at 4 pm.
If sources are to be believed, calls have also been made to Nitish Rane, Shivendra Raje Bhosale, Chandrakant Patil, Pankaj Bhoyar, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Jaykumar Rawal, Pankaja Munde, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Meghna Bordikar and Ganesh Naik to join the cabinet.

12 Shiv Sena MLAs received a call
Sources are saying that calls have been sent to 12 MLAs of Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena to join the Maharashtra government cabinet. Although there is no official confirmation of this. At present, sources have also given names of some Shiv Sena MLAs, who can be made ministers. These MLAs include Sanjay Shirsat, Uday Samant, Shambhuraj Desai, Gulabrao Patil, Bharat Gogawale, Sanjay Rathore, Ashish Jaiswal, Pratap Sarnaik, Yogesh Kadam and Prakash Abitkar.
What was the formula regarding cabinet in Mahayuti?
The information about what formula has been decided among the allies regarding the cabinet in the Grand Alliance has not been officially revealed yet. However, sources say that around 20 to 22 BJP MLAs can take oath as ministers today, while 10 to 12 Shiv Sena MLAs will take oath in the cabinet. About 10 leaders of Ajit Pawar’s party NCP can also take oath today. Many new faces are expected to be given a chance in the Mahayuti coalition government. Sources also say that the grand alliance may remove underperforming ministers, which may include 4 leaders from the Shinde camp, 3 from the BJP and 2 from the Ajit Pawar faction, who were earlier ministers.
Mahayuti has 235 MLAs in Maharashtra
In the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party led Mahayuti alliance got a landslide victory. Mahayuti currently has a strength of 235 MLAs. This time’s election results proved to be an important milestone for BJP, which won 132 seats and emerged as the largest party. Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party also gained huge lead with 57 and 41 seats.
