Kolkata, 24 February (Language) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced the increment of government doctors from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. Banerjee, who is also in charge of the state’s Health Ministry, announced a fund of two crore rupees for cultural and sports activities of medical colleges in the state.

The Chief Minister on Monday demanded a strict punishment for those responsible for the murder after raping a woman doctor in Medical College and Hospital after RG. On August 9 last year, a 31 -year -old doctor was raped and murdered at a government hospital in Kolkata, causing resentment throughout the country.

The lower court sentenced convict Sanjay Roy to life imprisonment. The case is currently pending in the Calcutta High Court. Banerjee described the woman doctor who lost his life as his “sister” and expressed deep condolences to the victim’s parents. The female doctor was murdered after rape in the hospital.

Addressing a special gathering of senior and junior doctors and medical students at Dhano Dhano Dhanyo Auditorium, Mamta highlighted her government’s efforts to ensure justice and insisted on introducing the Aparajita Bill, in which the death penalty for the culprits of rape Provision has been made.

Demand for proper punishment

Mamta said, “I express my condolences to the family of the sister killed in the hospital. We demand a proper punishment in this case. “He said,” I also took to the streets to protest against this incident. Our government passed the Aparajita Bill, but it is still pending (with the President). He said, “I entrust my brothers to protect our sisters and stop such incidents in future. Today, there is no gender inequality, which is a very positive atmosphere. Increased salary of government doctors

The Chief Minister praised the role of doctors and announced an increase of Rs 15,000 for senior doctors and Rs 10,000 for junior doctors including trainees, house staff and postgraduate trainees. He said, “Senior doctors teach many things to junior doctors. I will request senior doctors not to leave everything on junior. Give at least eight hours of your service in government hospitals and then do your personal practice. I have no problem with this. ”

Banerjee also increased the distance limit from the workplace for private practice of government doctors from 20 kilometers to 30 kilometers. Referring to the death of a woman after delivery and four others being ill after delivery due to alleged ‘expired’ intravenous fluid in Medinipur Medical College and Hospital earlier this year, Banerjee said that ‘medical for that incident’ Negligence was responsible.

Banerjee canceled the suspension of 12 doctors of the medical college and hospital in connection with the death of the woman. He said, “Midnapore Medical College and Hospital case has definitely been medical negligence. Investigation is being done and I will not say anything else for this. Some junior doctors have been suspended and the police have investigated their role. Thinking about his future, I have decided to withdraw the suspension. “
