A woman died under suspicious circumstances in Barkheda village of Malakheda police station area of Alwar. The family members have filed a case of dowry death from the in-laws side against the woman’s husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law. A video of fighting between the two parties has also surfaced in the hospital.

Nangli Megha, a resident of Rajmal, cousin of the deceased woman, told that her uncle’s daughter Rahina was married to Sunil, a resident of Barkheda, on March 12, 2022. Uncle spent more money than his means on the wedding. Yet, soon after the marriage, sister Rahina’s husband Sunil, mother-in-law Sunita, father-in-law Sher Singh and grandmother-in-law Lali Devi started taunting her for bringing less dowry in the marriage. She was repeatedly harassed for dowry. For this reason, my sister was thrown out of the house many times. But after mutual consultation it was sent back. The in-laws had been demanding a four-wheeler and Rs 1 lakh in cash as dowry. They even threatened to kill if he did not bring all this. My second daughter Muskaan also has her in-laws house in this village. Her family members including her husband Sanjay used to harass her.
There was a fight between the two parties in the district hospital.
On December 13, 2024, a call came from younger sister Muskan that Rahina’s husband Sunil, father-in-law Sher Singh and grandmother-in-law Lali Devi had poisoned Rahina. Rahina is lying unconscious. When he was brought to the hospital for treatment, he died. The family members have filed a case of dowry death against the in-laws. Rahina’s husband is also accused of vehicle theft.
