Employees had said, ‘Microsoft is selling AI weapons to Israel, due to which 50,000 people have been killed.’
Microsoft fired two employees protesting at their 50th Foundation Day event on Monday. These include Indian -origin software engineer Vania Aggarwal. Both employees accused the company of involvement in the massacre by selling AI technology to the Israeli army.
On Friday, Ibtihal Abusad and Vania Aggarwal staged a protest during the session of Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella, Bill Gates and Steve Walmer. At the event, Ibtihal Abusad shouted and said, Microsoft is selling AI weapons to Israel, killing 50,000 people.
Flown from company after protest
After the protest, Vania resigned and described the company as a “digital arms manufacturer”. He said, Microsoft’s tech is promoting the massacre. Microsoft AI Technology is being used in Israel’s military actions. This is a violation of human rights.
Microsoft immediately accepted Vania’s resignation, while Abausad was fired by citing “Missconduct”.

Microsoft sent Ibtihal Abusad in a mail sent the company said that your protest was unfair and indecent. Wrote Vania that your resignation is accepted with immediate effect.

Both employees are associated with the No Ajur for APS to ‘Group. The group has been opposing Microsoft’s Israeli army to sell technology during the Israeli-Pilistine War. The dispute has intensified after the death of more than 34,000 people in Gaza.
Vania was working in Microsoft since 2021
Vania Aggarwal has graduated in software engineering from Arizona State University, USA. He is one of the 35 students receiving Grace Hopper Scholarship.
In 2015, he worked as a social media manager and medical assistant in the tea company. After this, since 2021, she was working on the post of software engineer in Microsoft.
