Mahendra Singh Dhoni will once again be seen captaining Chennai Super Kings. CSK said on Thursday that the team’s command has been handed over to Dhoni.
Dhoni will captain the team after about 683 days. He was last seen captaining Chennai in IPL 2023.
Chennai Super Kings won the 2023 IPL title. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, the team played the final match against the Gujarat Titans.
Actually, regular captaincy of CSK Rituraj Gaikwad has been injured. For this reason, CSK took this decision between IPL 2025.
After IPL 2023, Dhoni himself handed over the captaincy to Gaikwad. CSK, captained by Gaikwad, faced defeat in four out of five matches this season.
After Dhoni becoming captain, there will also be a change in the playing XI of the team. Another player will be included in the playing XI in place of Gaikwad.
