MS Dhoni Harmu Road Residence Controversy: Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is once again embroiled in controversies. The matter is related to his bungalow located on Harmu Road in his hometown Ranchi. Jharkhand State Housing Board has started investigation into the allegations of commercial use of this residential land. According to reports, there are indications of plans to open a diagnostic center on this property.
What is the matter?
Jharkhand government had given 10,000 square feet land in Harmu Colony to MS Dhoni as a respect when Arjun Munda was the Chief Minister. Dhoni built a luxurious bungalow on this land, where he lived with his family for a long time. However, later he shifted to his farmhouse in Simlia.
Recently there was news that there is a plan to build a diagnostic center on this property. The Housing Board started investigation on the basis of complaints. It was told that there was a signboard of Pathology Center on this bungalow, which was later covered.
What did the Housing Board say?
Housing Board Chairman Sanjay Lal Paswan said, “We have ordered an investigation into this matter. If these allegations are found to be true, a notice will be issued to MS Dhoni.” Under the rules of the board, commercial use of residential land is prohibited. If the rules are violated, the allotment of the property can also be cancelled.
This property was in dispute earlier also
This is not the first time that questions have been raised over MS Dhoni’s property in Harmu Colony. In 2015 also, there were allegations of illegal occupation of another plot adjacent to this land. However, that matter was resolved later. Apart from this, Dhoni had also built a swimming pool on the roof of this house, due to which there was a dispute with the neighbors in 2007.
