The share of women in the total investors investing in mutual funds has increased to one quarter i.e. 25%. At the same time, women investors’ stake in individual investor assets have reached one-third. This means that women are investing more than men.
According to the report of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and CRISIL, the asset under management (AUM) of women investors was Rs 4.59 lakh crore in March 2019, which increased from double to Rs 11.25 lakh crore in March 2024 to Rs 11.25 lakh crore.
According to the report, the trend of investment is increasing rapidly without directly in women investors without the help of broker. As of March 2024, about 21% of his AUM investment came through direct plan. The figure was 14.20% in March 2019.
This trend is the fastest among young women investors. In women under the age of 25-44 years, the share of investment increased from 16% to 27.3% through a direct plan in the total AUM, while it increased from 13.9% to 17.6% in the category above 58 years. The investment of women in mutual funds is 11 lakh crores. In this, the lowest investment of women under 25 years of age is 1.6%.

- In 2019, the total investment of women investors was 8% of the holding of more than 5 years, which increased to 21% in March 2024. At the same time, the investment of male investors increased from 8% to 20%.
- In March 2024, SIP had more than 30% stake in the total investment of the woman. It rose 319% between March 2019 to March 2024.
- SIP accounts of women investors increased from 71.13 lakhs in December 2020 to 2.63 crore in December 2024. That is, 270% of accounts increased.
- Women SIP AUM has increased from Rs 1.2 lakh crore in December 2020 to about Rs 4.3 lakh crore in December 2024. That is, it saw an increase of about 4 times.
