Army Rule in Myanmar: Military rule is still in force in Myanmar. Not much information about the situation in Myanmar reaches the world. However, now a person has mentioned the situation there, which has shocked everyone. This person named Maung Maung told that after the overthrow of Aung San Suu Kyi from the country, he left his job and house and everything to escape from the clutches of the junta. The brutality in the country became so extreme that his brother’s leg was chopped off with a knife for liking a Facebook post. Boiling water was poured on his wounds.
What did Maung Maung tell?,
Maung Maung told The Independent, “I was a journalist in Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city. It is about 1 February 2021, when Myanmar’s army captured the power of the country and everything changed in the country overnight. After which lakhs of people across the country came out on the streets against the coup, but the army crossed the limits of cruelty on them. During this period thousands of people were killed and thousands were arrested and put in jail. Curfew was imposed in the country. Every house was searched and people found suspicious were arrested. Even the use of social media was banned in the country.
Seven years imprisonment if photo is found in phone
Maung Maung further wrote, “A friend of mine was kept tied in jail for 3 months. Apart from this, foreign journalists who had Aung San Suu Kyi’s photo on their phones were sentenced to 7 years in prison. He was tortured a lot in jail.”
He further said, “One of my three brothers was arrested for liking a Facebook post. His legs were cut off and boiling water was poured on the wounds, rendering him unconscious. When he regained consciousness the next morning, the soldiers dragged him out and kept him tied in the scorching sun until he became unconscious again. After this, when he woke up the second time, he found himself in a truck heading towards Insen Prison.
