People in many countries of the world including India are immersed in the celebrations of the New Year 2025. People all over the world are celebrating New Year at different times. The biggest reason behind this is the Earth’s rotation around the Sun, due to which time difference is seen in different parts of the world.
The New Year begins first in the countries of the South Pacific Ocean. Because of this, on many of the islands present here, the New Year has started 15 hours earlier than in India.
The first place to welcome the New Year 2025 is Christmas Island of the Republic of Kiribati. In this small island located in the Pacific Ocean, the calendar of the year changed on 31 December at 3.30 pm Indian time (IST).
The beginning of the New Year in major cities Auckland and Wellington started at 4.30 pm on Tuesday evening Indian time.
Grand New Year fireworks took place in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra of Australia on 31 December at 6:30 pm Indian time.
Many countries located in Asia like Japan, South Korea and North Korea started their celebrations at 8 pm IST on Tuesday night. At the same time in China, Philippines and Singapore, streets lit up with fireworks at midnight.
There are about 40 countries in the world which celebrate New Year before India. The biggest reason behind this is the existence of different time zones. In this way there are about 24 Tyne Zones in the world.
