According to the KCNA news agency, Kim Jong Un said in his statement, “Powerful weapons guarantees safety.” He said, “This is the responsible mission and duty of the DPRK’s nuclear armed forces to use the nuclear power as a shield and protect the sovereignty of the country.”
DPRK North Korea’s official name is a brief form of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. According to the KCNA news agency, the missile was launched at the sea above the west coast of the Korean peninsula on Wednesday.
South Korea’s army issued a statement
The South Korean army said on Friday that it had indicated preparations for the missile launch on Wednesday. After this, many cruise missiles were monitored after launching above the sea at around 8 am.
North Korea has been engaged in the development of strategic cruise missiles for many years, whose objective is to carry nuclear weapons. The international community has less concern and condemnation than ballistic missiles over these types of missiles, as they have not been formally banned under the United Nations Security Council resolutions. The Security Council has banned North Korea from developing ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons and has imposed several restrictions on it for violations.
