Animal care. As soon as the summer season comes, humans have to face health problems. In the same way, many types of diseases are seen in animals. In this season, animals like cows, buffaloes and bulls usually reduce feeding, which worsens their health and milk production of milch animals also decreases. Due to this, cattle rearers have to suffer financial losses.
Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sinha (BVSC, Ranchi Veterinary College, 33 years experience), working in the Government Veterinary Hospital of Hazaribagh on this subject, says that the main reason for the loss of animal appetite in summer is the excessive amount of alkali from the body. Due to the heat, animals go into stress and produce a large amount of saliva (saliva), which also causes foam coming out of their mouths.
He further explained that there is plenty of alkali in saliva. When this alkali comes out of the body, only acid remains in the body, causing the body’s pH level to become unbalanced. The pH level of animals should usually be between 7.2 and 7.4. When this balance deteriorates, animals start eating less fodder, their stomach remains bloated, digestion becomes weak, does not feel hungry and they can fall into the grip of many diseases. Also, the animal goes into stress condition.
Sweet soda water beneficial
Dr. Mukesh Sinha suggests that in such a time, cattle ranchers should feed their animals twice a week. Due to this, the pH level of the body remains normal. If the animal is being given sweet soda water for the first time, then the quantity of 5 to 10 grams is sufficient. If it is already being used, then the quantity of 20 to 25 grams can be given. This remedy not only improves the appetite of animals, but also keeps their digestive system fine, due to which they remain healthy and milk production of milch animals does not fall.
