- Nse changes expiry of all f & o contracts from chursday to monday effective April 4

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced to change the day of expiry of all F&O contracts. The NSE said on Tuesday (March 4) that all the Nifty Index Weekly Future and Options (F&O) contracts will now expire on Monday instead of Thursday. This new rule will be effective from April 4 next month.
All monthly expiry of Nifty It will be on mind
The exchange said that all the Nifty’s monthly expiry will also be held on Monday instead of Thursday from next month. Under this decision, NSE’s bank Nifty, Finn Nifty, Nifty Midcap Select and Nifty Next-50 expiry will also be held on Monday instead of Thursday.
Weekly and monthly expiry of Nifty 50 will also be on Monday instead of April 4 to Thursday. The NSE said, ‘All these changes will be effective from 04 April 2025. That is, for all existing contracts, expiry-day will be revised to 03 April 2025 (EOD) will be made new-expiry-day.
The NSE said that the monthly contracts of all shares would also end on the last Monday of the expiry month. The Stock Exchange said that the revised-expiry-day is April 11 due to the holiday in the stock market on 14 April 2025.
Nifty declined for 10th consecutive day
Today, the Nifty fell at 22,082 for the 10th consecutive day. The Nifty declined by 36 points today. At the same time, the Sensex has fallen by 96 points to 72,990. Auto and IT stocks were the biggest decline.
The Nifty Auto Index fell 1.31%. The IT index fell by 0.90%. The media gained 2.37% and the index of public sector banks by 1.56%. Metal and oil and gas index rose about 0.5%.
