Pakistan Former ISI Chief Faiz Hamid: A major update has come in the proceedings of cart marshal of Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid, former chief of Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Pakistan’s military court has framed formal charges against former Lieutenant General and Peshawar Corps Commander Faiz Hamid. Apart from the court martial, many other types of investigations are also being conducted against Faiz Hamid. He has been in the custody of Pakistan Army since August this year.

Faiz Hamid is said to be a military officer close to former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Hamid was known as the most powerful person of Pakistan till two years ago.

Formal charges framed against Faiz Hamid

According to The News report, Faiz Hamid has been formally charged in the ongoing Field General Court Martial (FGCM) proceedings against him. The FGCM process was initiated against Lieutenant General Hamid on August 12 under the provisions of the Pakistan Army Act. However, some people believe that Faiz Hamid is paying the price of being close to Imran Khan.

Pakistani Army issued official statement

Pakistan Army’s propaganda wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a brief official statement issued on Tuesday (December 10), “[…] And first formally charge them with charges of engaging in political activities prejudicial to the security and interests of the State, violation of the Official Secrets Act, abuse of authority and government resources and causing wrongful loss to any person(s). Have been installed.”

Many serious allegations have been made against Faiz Hamid

The media wing of the Pakistani Army said, “The former ISI chief has been found involved in incidents aimed at creating agitation and unrest. Due to which many incidents took place including the unrest of May 9, 2023. “Their role in promoting instability in collusion with political interests is also being investigated separately.” ISPR said, “Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid is being given all legal rights as per law.”
