The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is the most powerful organization among the organizations seeking independence in Balochistan.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed to have a passenger train hijack in Pakistan. BLA said on Tuesday that his army hijacked the Jafar Express and took 120 passengers hostage.
According to reports, 500 people are aboard this train. BLA also killed 6 soldiers present in the train. BLA has warned that if any action is taken against him, they will kill 120 hostages.
According to Pakistani media reports, BLA attacked the Jafar Express train, injuring the driver of the train. After this attack, emergency has been declared in all hospitals in the area.

In a statement, BLA said that our fighters have planned this operation in Mashkaf, Dhadar and Bolan. The railway track has been blown, due to which the Jafar Express had to stop. After this, our fighters captured this train and took the passengers hostage. If an attempt is made to conduct a military operation against us, then we will kill all the hostages. The Pakistani army will be responsible for this murder-e-man.
Two years ago there was a blast in Jafar Express
On 16 February 2023, there was a blast in the Jafar Express from Peshawar to Quetta, in which 2 people died. The blast occurred when the train was crossing the Chichavatni railway station. The attack was taken by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Jafar Express runs between Quetta and Peshawar. On the intervening night of 25 and 26 August 2024, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) blew up a bridge between Kolpur and Mach. After which the service of the train was stopped. The train service started again from 11 October 2024.
What is Balochistan Liberation Army
Many people in Balochistan believe that after India-Pakistan partition, they wanted to live as a free country. But without his will, he was included in Pakistan. Due to this, the struggle of the army and people in Balochistan continues even today.
According to BBC, there are many organizations demanding independence in Balochistan but Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is the most powerful organization. The organization came into existence in the 70s but has increased its impact in the 21st century.
Bla wants to liberate Balochistan from the Pakistani government and China. He believes that he has the right to the resources of Balochistan. The Government of Pakistan included the Balochistan Liberation Army in the list of terrorist organizations in 2007.

In 2025, Pakistan was described as the second most terror -affected country in the world in 2025, the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) report released by Sydney -based Institute for Economics and Peace.
According to the report, Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are the most terrorist affected areas. Out of the total terrorist incidents across the country, 90% occurred in this area.
In the report, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was described as Pakistan’s most dangerous terrorist organization for the second consecutive year. In 2024, the group carried out 482 attacks, causing 558 deaths, which is 91% higher than in 2023.
