The Baloch Liberation Army has threatened to kill the passengers for taking any kind of action. Jafar Express was going to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Quetta in South-Western Balochistan province of Pakistan. The BLA blew the railway track, due to which the Jafar Express stopped and they took the train under their control.
The Baloch Liberation Army said that six military personnel have been killed so far. According to the BLA, Majeed Brigade, STOS and Fateh Squad together have carried out this operation. According to Pakistani channel Samaa TV, a fierce firing has been done on the Jafar Express, due to which the driver of the train was injured.
Railway officials said that the security forces have surrounded the entire area and started the operation against the terrorists. Among the hostages are Pakistani Army, Police, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) employees.
According to Pakistani media, the BLA has left women, children and people of Baloch. Government spokesperson Shahid Rind said that the Balochistan government has implemented emergency measures and all institutions have been collected to deal with the situation.
The separatist militant groups in turbulent Balochistan have carried out continuous attacks against Chinese projects in the army and region. BLA wants independence of Balochistan. This is the largest of many ethnic rebel groups, which has fought the government of Pakistan for decades.
The organization says that the government is improperly exploiting Balochistan’s rich gas and mineral resources. The BLA has been declared a terrorist organization by Pakistan, Iran, China, United Kingdom, United States, United States, European Union.
