Cummins has taken paternity leave on the Sri Lanka tour and will undergo a scan of his ankle in the coming days, after which it will be known whether he will be able to participate in the Champions Trophy or not.
Australia chief selector George Bailey said of Cummins’ ankle, “We’ll have to wait and see when those scans come back and see how he’s tracking. There’s some work to be done. We’ll probably have to think about that.” “We will get some more information about where he is.”
Let us tell you that Cummins had bowled 167 overs in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played against India, which was the most by any Australian bowler. Cummins took 25 wickets in the series at an average of 21.36.
