PM Modi held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Mauritius.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend Mauritius’ National Day celebrations on Wednesday today as the chief guest. Along with this, a contingent of the Indian Army, a Navy’s Waraship and the Akash Ganga Sky Diving Team of the Air Force will also participate in the ceremony.
Mauritius led by Indian origin Sir Sivasagar Ramgulam gained independence from British on 12 March 1968. It became a Republic in 1992 under Commonwealth.
Yesterday Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgulam announced to give PM Modi the highest award of his country, ‘The Grand Commander of the Star and Ki of the Indian Ocean’.
Prime Minister Modi is the first Indian to receive this honor. This is the 21st International Award given by a country to PM Modi.
